Volunteer Opportunities

Plenty of People: Excited! Eager! Ready to be involved in helping Academy of the Cross open! People are needed to:

Be a resource for a committee
• Be a help to those who are doing the work
• Undertake a specifically skilled task for a short-term commitment
• Serve on a committee
  • Be a part of those who have committed to carry the work forward
  • Teams and their needs are outlined below
• Become involved at the board level
  • Think strategically
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee all aspects of work being done

Board of Directors: Individuals who are:

• Passionate for bringing alive the vision
• Capable strategic thinkers
• Willing doers with a variety of professional backgrounds

Research Team: Several additional committee members who are:

• Able to help shape the updating and re-validating of our market research
• Have the ability to understand and analyze the results

Development Team: Additional committee members who:

• Can connect others to the Academy of the Cross mission
• Know how to raise necessary funds for the organization

Also need people willing to:

• Make personal visits to potential donors
• Help with donor calling nights

Communications Team: Additional committee members who:

• Have marketing and public relations background or skills
• Possess graphic design capabilities

Auction Committee: A whole host of volunteers to help:

• Plan and promote the event
• Gather gifts
• Catalog the gifts received
• Acknowledge gifts received
• Create baskets for bidding
• Solicit advertising
• Type the program
• Assemble the program
• Set-up on the day of the auction
• Help the night of the auction

Office Work:

• Help with mailings
• Data entry and other administrative assistant type help
