Past Year's Successes

Celebrate with us a year of progress, a year of success, and a year of connecting new people to the vision of Academy of the Cross.

Accomplishments of the past year:

• Raised over $105,000 for our Start It Strong Fund
  
  
• Received participation for Start It Strong from 100% of Board of Directors and staff members
  
  
• Celebrated 127 donors to Start It Strong
  • 40 of those were new donors
  • 31 of the 87 donors who have previously supported this Lutheran high school gave support at a higher level than ever before
  
  
• Held a very successful dinner auction in April at the Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles
  • Had 167 attendees – over half of those were new supporters
  • Raised over $36,000 for the work of Academy of the Cross
  
  
• Chose and announced the new name of Academy of the Cross
  
  
• Designed and released the new logo
  
  
• Produced an informational video now available on our website and on YouTube
  
  
• Have 119 fans on the Academy of the Cross Facebook site
  
  
• Held three successful information nights in March
  
  
• Held a focus group event in February that gathered educators, parents, and students to define the characteristics of the ideal teacher to be hired at the new high school
  
  
• Changed with help of legal counsel from association to autonomous governance structure
  
  
• Completed annexation agreement with Otter Creek Water Reclamation District which brought water and sewer lines to our property site
  
  
• Added audio availability to the weekly spiritual reflection posted on our website
  
  
• Sent weekly updates about the work being done to 23 churches and 8 Lutheran schools

Now we are working to plan and position for another upcoming successful year.
