1. Where is Academy of the Cross in making progress towards opening?
We are coming off of a year filled with many points of progress like naming the school, creating the branding, and conducting our first annual fund drive. Read the full list of accomplishments.
Now this year we are launching the second annual fund drive with goals to expand the base of support, provide the resources to update research regarding market potential, meet our operational needs, and fund the hiring of the right director of development to help build the financial foundation that will propel us forward.
2. How are things going?
They are going well! The annual fund is making progress towards both the financial and donor goals. As for the search for a development director...we are doing that through referrals from people who can direct us to highly qualified individuals. In the process of talking to many respected leaders around the district and synod, we are building recognition for our work. The field of candidates is being narrowed down as we prepare to extend a call to our top choice.
3. When will the school open?
It's an answer we all seek, and that's what makes this year so important. The results of our annual fund and of our market research will give us more of what we need to know so we can set the target date with confidence and then build towards it.
4. Does Academy of the Cross have the support needed?
Our market research of five years ago verified that we had both the support and a strong market share of potential students. This year we're working to update and verify that the support and market demand is still strong. We will also research whether market demand is driven by both an exemplary program and a brand new facility or whether the strong program alone is irresistible enough to launch the start-up.
